My Latest Updates....

Okay, I've been a bit quiet as of late....

There have been a couple of events going on out here in NYC that I wanted to go to, but couldn't make it out to.  It REALLY sucks to not have any money in your pocket.  I can't even afford to get on the local trains and buses just o handle my business.  If it's not within walking distance, I'm screwed.

Been putting in a number of applications for jobs.  Looks like I might have to go back to being a (wage) slave for a while.  I'm not generating ANY book sales, so I need to find an alternative way to make some money.  It's NOT something that I want to do, but a brother needs to live.  I've got shit that I need to do, and I can't do it, or get anything done without any money in my pocket.  Especially here in NYC where everything is super fucking expensive, I can't be without any money in my pocket.  Nor, am I able to properly invest in my writing career.

Of the good that's going on...the latest book is going well.  It's actually ready to be published, but I'm going to wait at least until March to release it.  Still deciding if I should release it as eBook first, and THEN publish it as a paper back, or just paperback it in March, and then convert it to an eBook.  Stay tuned for "Drum Speaking: Tales From An Inner City Griot", a short story anthology!  :-)

Also...I'm going to be featured in an ezine called "Es Mi Cultura".  It's an online publication created by mi hermana Tamika Burgess.  She will be featuring my first two works in the upcoming February edition of the ezine.  I'm really looking forward to that, and hope that it helps to boost my sagging writing career.

I've continued to reach out to other media outlets, but still nada.  I've emailed some online magazines to do reviews of my work, and I get absolutely NO response.  Yet...whenever i be sharing their shit all over Facebook, they wanna act like they're my biggest fans, and great friends.  Smgdmfh...

Still trying to keep the faith, and be positive.  I'm trying not to get embittered about the lack of progress in my writing career.  I'm hoping that things will change soon enough.  I'll keep you all updated to my progress.
