Celebrating My Blogiversary

 It's just occurred to me.  It's been ELEVEN years since I started this blog.  Man...time really flies by when you're not looking. 😲😲😲😲

I started this blog right before I published my second book "Raise Your Brown Black Fist 2: MORE Political Shouts of an Angry Afro Latino" (Outskirts Press, 2011).  I started this to be an outlet for me as an activist, and also to help with the promotion of my budding writing career, at the time.  I'm glad that I've remained consistent with it; I may not post as much as I did back when I first started, but I'm still keeping this blog alive.  Eleven years, and fourteen books later, my blog is still my main platform to promote myself as a writer, and a way for me to promote my activism in the literary arts.

 

I had my concerns with starting the blog; I didn't want it to be an outlet for constantly ranting about one issue, or another.  I get that I sometimes do sound a bit sour on here, considering the issues that I've been having with poor sales and all...but, for the most part...I'm providing myself with a voice, and keeping myself out there.

 

Thank you to all that have supported me, and continue to follow the blog.  No matter where I share this, may you continue to follow my blog, and enjoy my posts.  I hope that you find the blog posts informative, and also entertaining.  Please continue to support the blog, and support my books.

Birthday Stylee

So, my birthday was last week.  It was on the 8th, to be exact.  I am now officially 46 years old.  Didn't really do much for my birthday, considering how COVID-19 has shut down most businesses.  I didn't really want to go to any of the open restaurants, and I'm still a little leery about going into enclosed spaces.  It wasn't a total loss; I actually had some friends surprise me last weekend, and get me a cake, and some chips.  An elder sister and I had birthdays last week, so as to celebrate both of our birthdays, they equally got us the cake and chips.  I was really humbled by that, and truly appreciated my friends for it.  I don't really have too many people out here in Delaware that I associate with, so this act of kindness really meant a lot to me.  

So, Latino Heritage Month has officially ended, as of yesterday.  The month is celebrated from September 15th-October 15th, so yesterday was the 'official' last day for it.  I've been running a series to celebrate the month on YouTube, through my web series "The Rough Draft".  I called it my #CelebratingLatinoHeritageMonth series, and just posted the final video for it, today.  The series is 6 episodes long, and features my Latino lead characters in my novels, and my Latino-themed books.  I hope that you guys will check out the videos, and hopefully be inspired to buy the books.  ALWAYS remember to celebrate your heritage, and celebrate your culture.  Viva mi gente Latino!!!  Soy negro, y orgullo!!!

 

I'm still working on my repatriation plans.  As I've stated before, my top choices are to repatriate to either Gambia in the west of Africa, or to Tanzania in the east.  Just trying to get the passport taken care of, as well as figure out what I need to transport over there.  I've been following some Youtubers who have repatriated to the continent, and hope to connect with them, before my move next year.  My secondary choices are Senegal in the west, and Uganda in the east.  I'm still open to other countries, I just wanna gtfo of the US.  I've had enough.  I 'm also trying to figure what type of business that I'd like to open over there.  I'm still considering the bookstore & cafe idea, but I'm also considering a gym/fitness center, as well.  Other than building my writing career on the continent, I'd like to have something to pass on to my future children...when I finally find a wife to have children with. 

My next book is DONE!!!  I will be releasing a new novel in 2021.  Knuckle Up is another conversion project of mine, and I'm really looking forward to releasing it.  I have an idea for a release date, and I'll be letting you guys know when within the next month.  Stay tuned!!!

Celebrating Latino Heritage Month

Paz, mi gente.

This past Sunday officially kicked off the start to Latino Heritage Month, on September 15th.  As always, I fight for the inclusion of Latinos of African descent, such as myself, to be included in such celebrations.  I always promote the publishing of my 2-book series "Raise Your Brown Black Fist: The Political Shouts of an Angry Afro Latino" (Authorhouse, 2010), and "Raise Your Brown Black Fist 2: MORE Political Shouts of an Angry Afro Latino" (Outskirts Press, 2011).  I usually try to make a point of going out to, and participate in, certain Latino festivals and events that are taking place in whatever city that I'm living in at the time.  This year, I've been feeling really run down by the day job, so I kept my celebrations to a solitary affair.  I'm hoping to make it out to a few other events that are going on around town, depending on how I'm feeling.  We'll see...

Since it is Latino Heritage Month, I usually would like to highlight something that I'm working on, or an event that is taking place either locally, or some other city.  I've been off my game, since I've withdrawn for the so-called Afro Latino Movement in recent years.  I've gotten really burnt out as of late, and feel a certain level of disrespect; I've been doing this type of activism for well over TWO decades; other have been doing it longer.....yet, those of us who have been in the fight for decades don't seem to be getting our respect, or props.  New jack media darlings are getting all of the shine, for NOT even doing half the work.  I guess that comes with this digital media age.  Whatever...

Viva mi gente, africano y negro!!!!  Soy negro, y orgullo!!!  Lets make our voices heard during this month, and give voice to our accomplishments, existence, and plight!!!

End-of-Month Wrap-up [JUNE]

So, we've entered the final week of the month of June.  Time really does fly, dosen't it?

The Summer Solstice has just passed.  Welcome to summer!!!  I had to work that day, but wanted to send out some positive energies for the official coming of the summer season.  Light a candle, light some incense, and say a prayer or two to the Creator.

Just entered a THIRD book entry into the North Street Book Contest.  I decided to enter my short story anthology "Drum Speaking: Tales From An Inner City Griot" (CreateSpace, 2016) into the mix.  Since the deadline is this coming Sunday (June 30th), I decided to take advantage of the opportunity.  It couldn't hurt; hell, it might actually up my chances at winning at least one of the three main prizes.  Getting the recognition is what really matters to me.  Since my sales are stagnant, I need to generate some attention for my work somehow.  The exposure is what really counts, for me.

I just outlined the first four episodes of "The Rough Draft".  I'm hoping to start shooting some footage for it by this weekend/the start of next week.  Once it's shot and edited, I'll post it here on the blog, and on Youtube.  I already have my Author Book Trailers uploaded there, so feel free to look me up, and view the videos.  I might share them on Facebook as well, but as a link. 

The day job is going pretty well, so far.  Not that I'm looking to hook up with any co-workers there, but we got some niiiiiiiice looking women working in my department. My first month has gone by on a good note, and I've earned my boss' and coworkers' respect for my work ethic.  As long as they treat me right, I might actually stay there for a while...

Been networking with a brother out here, who is ALSO a transplant from NY.  Met him at the local library out here ( and people wonder WHY I like going to the library so much).  I'm getting that hustle-mode mentality back, like I've always had.  Since he knows of my literary activism, he's trying to help hook me up with some people that  he knows that could help me, not just with my literary career, but also with my efforts for the Universal Africana Literary Arts Movement.  ANY help that I can get with both would be much appreciated.  a brotha is TIRED of struggling, and not getting supported....

Been Away For A While...

Greeting in the new year!!  Welcome to 2019!!!

It's been a while since I've written a blog post.  The new day job dominates most of my time, especially since they were working me for six days a week, for a while.  I've only recently started being scheduled with consecutive days off.  That's kept me offline a lot, and off  my online promotional game.

I've also recently lost my mother, so I'm dealing with that.  She passed away very early New Years morning, which I was actually working (both on NYE, and NYD).  I'm dealing with it day by day, lucky to be surrounded by good friends who can relate to having lost a loved one.  That has also kept me off the computer, as I needed my personal head space, and go through the initial grieving process.

The release of my latest book, and Black Fist sequel "The Chronicles of The Black Fist: F.U.R.I. of the People" (KDP, 2019) is TWO WEEKS AWAY.  The cover is designed, and the final edits have been made.  Just waiting to load it up, and let the publisher handle their business.  The book will be available in both paperback and eBook formats.

Hoping to get the opportunity to do some vending at some festivals/book fairs/conventions this year.  I was noticeably absent last year, and want to do a better promotional job this year.  I would still love to do panel discussions, as well.  Hopefully, my schedule will straighten out, and I can get the opportunities that I need to get my stuff out there, especially with the release of this latest novel.  I would love to do a few Black comic cons to promote it, and the first book as well.

2019 marks the 10-year anniversary of the organizational formation of the Universal Africana Literary Arts Movement.  We changed over from Black CapaCity, primarily because of some bama ass bullshit, and rebranded ourselves (by we, I mean ME).  Niggas never understood wtf I was trying to do anyway, so why not branch out on my own, and do the shit the right way, as I envisioned it?  Stupid ass bamas never understood what I was trying to do anyway, as it was more than just a fucking festival.  It was a concept envisioned on a very broad scale, with a networking piece to it.  That's what happens when you fuck with country ass, bama ass niggas, faking like they conscious.

Aaaaaaaaaaaanyway....

Here's to 2019.  Hoping to have a better year that last year.  And....make that transition to move to the continent, finally.

Sequel COMPLETED!!!!

SO I have some great news.....THE SEQUEL IS COMPLETE!!!!  :-D

Just finished writing Book II to The Black Fist saga!  I'm totally ecstatic about that!!!  The first draft to "F.U.R.I. of the People" is finally completed, and I can now move on to the future drafts.  I still have no idea when I'm going to publish it, but I'm just glad to have that one in the books, as they say.  I've already designed the front cover for it, and just need to clean up the story, until I feel that it's just right.  I've added more characters this time around, on both sides of the battle.  I'm still using a lot of symbolism and metaphor in the story, just not as much as in the first book.  I can't wait to get it perfect, for when I finally decide to publish it.  I'm already working on Book III, and already have a working concept for Book IV.  I'll give you the details later on that of the book series....

Finally reordered my business cards, today.  They should arrive by the beginning of next week.  I went back to VistaPrint to print up my business cards.  They ended up costing me around the same amount of money as with GotPrint, but I'm expecting a much better quality of product with VistaPrint.  They haven't let me down before, so I'm expecting the same quality of work, if not better.  Shoulda never went with the new guys; I knew what I had with VP.  Oh well, live and learn...

Other than writing the new Black Fist series, I'm considering my options as far as my other literary projects are concerned.  I still have a few projects that I want to complete, and others that I'm contemplating writing.  Ah....the mind and life of a writer...

So, for all of the fathers out there...Happy (belated) Fathers Day!!!  Hope that you all feel appreciated, and I give you much respect.  I haven't joined the ranks of fatherhood yet, but I seriously want to join the club.  I very much want children...just not no crazy chick coming with them, lol, lol...

For all my Boricua gente out there, specifically in Nueva York...DICE WEEEEEEEEEEEPPPAAAAAA!!!  I know that the annual Puerto Rican Day Parade recently passed, and wanted to give my shout outs to my Boricua peoples out there.

Spring time in May

So we have now entered the month of May....

"Fiesta Girl" (Draft2Digital, 2018) is now entering its third month of publication. 

Still working on the promotion of the book.  It's definitely a grind, and a bit of a headache, but I'm still plugging through.  Been sending out a new e-blast for it to my usual list of contacts, which I'm trying to expand, by the way...

ALSO.... "Seductra: Web of Desire" (CreateSpace, 2017) is celebrating it's ONE YEAR PUBLISHING ANNIVERSARY. 

 
Sales definitely haven't been where I wanted them to be for that particular project, but I was going through a transitional phase at the time I dropped that particular book. I had just moved, was still dealing with a new job, and still getting  myself acclimated to being a working writer again.  Still putting forth the effort to promote it, as I always should, and trying to help keep that story alive.  It's a really good book, if I do say so myself, and wish that I could get it the attention that it deserves.

I'm hoping to be able to participate in a few festivals/book fairs/conventions this year.  It's looking kinda bleak, financially.  If I can get a decent amount of hours at work, I actually might be able to pull it off.  I'm still looking for another day job; fuck this one.  My boss is a disrespectful dick, and they ain't trying to give me no decent hours...not unless it benefits them.  Homey don't play that.

I'm actually in a better mood.  Been connecting with some really cool comrades out here in DE.  I even recently got the chance to finally meet an online friend in person.  I'm hoping to get a little more involved in the community this year; I actually have more options to do that.  Might even participate in a few of the festivals and stuff out here, now that I'm getting to know more people.  Wilmington is not as boring as certain people are portraying it out to be; there's actually a good amount of stuff to do out here...if you know the right people, and where to look.  If you only interested in doing 'nigga' shit, like smoking and getting drunk, then do you.  There are actually a good number of events going on being done by various individuals, and organizations in the city.  Bottom line....I STILL don't regret the move out here.  Yeah...the attitudes of the people take a bit of getting used to, but that's basically anywhere you go.

Hoping to increase my sales.  also looking forward to what the future holds.  My partner and I are still working on "Ethnic Eats"; we had a delay in production cause of his crazy work schedule, and my recent sickness (caught a bit of a cold that hasn't fully gone away), but we're getting back on track. I've even started working on one of the sequels to my novel "The Chronicles of The Black Fist" (CreateSpace, 2015).  I'm hoping to finish the first draft before the summer is out.

So It Is February......

The month of February is now here.....

I'm not as psyched as I usually am for the month, as February has become a special month for me in recent years.

February is the start of Black History Month (BHM) in the United States...
It's also my anniversary month for being a published author (currently EIGHT years)...
It's also the publishing anniversary for my fourth book, and first novel, "The Chronicles of The Black Fist" (CreapsSpace, 2015)...
I'll be dropping my latest novel this month, this year in 2018 [Fiesta Girl, Draft2Digital, 2018]...
Akoma Day is this month (February 14th-20th), though I don't have a special lady to celebrate it with this year...
....And finally....this month also marks my one year anniversary living in Delaware.

Call it what you want; battle fatigue...depression...the 'blahs'....I'm kinda going through it right now.  Thought I'm principally concentrating on my latest book project, I'm just not feeling it right now.  I'm a lot better off now personally, than I was a year ago (hell...try four), but I'm still not close to where I want to be.  My life has improved, but not the way that I've expected it to be, nor have I come as far as I would like to.  I know that I said in an earlier post, that I'm still learning to practice patience, but come ON!!

But, I digress....

Fiesta Girl is coming along.  She drops NEXT WEEK!  I'm excited about it, though my optimism is still negligible, considering my past book launches.  It's always the same; a lot of 'likes', but never any meaningful amount of purchases.  HOPEFULLY, this time will be different.  I'll be making a post about it here on the blog, complete with a few links to download the book.

Working on the latest listing for the Universal Africana Literary Arts Movement.  It's coming along really well.  The first draft of the listing is pretty lengthy.  I hope that it helps the other members of the Movement.  It's should be done in another week, or so.  Hopefully, this year, I can participate in a few of those events myself...

Other than that, just keeping my head up, and doing what I do.  Will be branching out to to a web-based TV show with a comrade of mine out here.  We'll be showcasing local ethnic restaurants, and promoting them on the show.  It's a great idea, and a boon to these local ethnic food spots.  Hey...if WE don't support our own businesses, who will?

Welcome to 2018!!!!

What's good, my peoples?  Happy new Year, and welcome to 2018!  2017 was a transition year for me, and I actually ended the year on a pretty strong note.  I was able to attend a number of Kwanzaa events here in Wilmington that were off the chain, and actually ended my work week on a positive footing . 

2018 is going to be a good year.  I am in better spirits, and I'm in a better place on many different levels.  Though my money could be a little bit better, at least I'm in a better position than I have been over the last few years.  I will be celebrating the 10th year anniversary of operation for the Universal Africana Literary Arts Movement; quite an accomplishment I might add, especially without any manpower, or financial assistance.  I will also be celebrating my EIGHTH year as a published author, and will be dropping my NINTH book next month in February.  I'm really looking forward to the release of "Fiesta Girl"; it was definitely a labor of love.  It was formerly a screenplay that I'd written over 20 years ago, and I didn't want the story to go to waste.  Here is the cover for it:

I'm scheduling to have it released during the week of Akoma Day (February 14th-20th), my own way to celebrate the institution of Black love.  February also marks the 3-year publishing anniversary of "The Chronicles of The Black Fist" (CreateSpace, 2015), my Action/Adventure superhero novel.  Though I'll be concentrating primarily on marketing Fiesta Girl, I'm hoping to make a splash in sales for that particular novel; one of my favorite projects to date.

On the personal side, I'm hoping to meet Mrs. Right, settle down, and hopefully start a family.  Brother ain't getting any younger, and I would like to be young enough to enjoy at least one child.  Now If I can juuust find a decent sista/hermana to connect with......   ;-)

Reflections, and Manifestations

So my birthday passed recently, on October 8th to be exact....

I just turned 43.  Was feeling a bit melancholy in the beginning, but the actual day itself wasn't too bad.  Had to work on my birthday, but it wasn't a bad day nonetheless.

I had to look at it in a positive way.  I am lucky enough to see yet another year of life, relatively unscathed.  Despite some of the ups and downs that I've gone through this year so far, I've got to count my blessings, and see my life in the upswing.  I'm working, I got THE HELL out of New York, and I'm still working on establishing my writing career.  So far, I'm considering 2017 to be a rebuilding year, trying to get myself reestablished in my writing career.  I need to get myself straight personally first, before I move further with my career.  I do have more piece of mind now, and feel a bit more relaxed, and at ease.

 On the down side of things, I'm not where I want to be in life at 43 years old.  I should have been married by now, with some children, which is something that I still very much want.  I want to be a dad, and a great husband, and neither option seems very attainable at the moment.  I'm barely dating, as it is .  I want to have children before I get too old to enjoy them.  I'm definitely not getting any younger, and don't want to wait until I'm too old to have any, or not be able to have any children at all.  And...I'm not trying to have a child by just any old body, either.

I'm not where I wan to be right now, but I'm making progress.  I'm a lot better off than I was the last few years, that's for sure.  I'm looking forward to ending out the year on a strong note, and strategizing for next year.  I'm still working on some future writing projects, but want to concentrate on promoting my existing books.

Here's to another year of life, and a successful move forward.....

Updates & Info

Yeah....I've been off my game for a while....

So, Sedutra: Web of Desire was finally published as a paperback, and I celebrated the 2-year publishing anniversary of "Spittin' Lyrics N Waxin' Poetic" in August.  Other than that, I've been plugging away at the day job, in which I've finally reached the end of my probationary period.  The job is going so-so right now.

I'm still wondering what to do now, as far as my literary dreams are concerned.  The sales still aren't there, no matter WHAT I do to promote them.  I'm getting sick and tired of the whole email campaign thing that I've been doing hardcore, for the last three years.  It's just not effective; I can e-blast people until my fingers fall off, and it still won't get me anywhere. I want to get back into the festival/book fair circuit, but my current day job doesn't allow me the opportunity to do that, since I work mostly on the weekends.  Not to mention, it'll cost me to pay the vending fee, on top of ordering books for each event. 

At the same time, I have ideas of other book projects that I want to work on, but I'm not really motivated to write them down.  I'm struggling as it is to gain support for my current published work; why write (and publish) some other shit that people just won't read?  It feels like a huge waste of time.  Even when I promote on social media, niggas just wanna press the 'like' button, and keep it moving.  Fuck that...I'm trying to make a living at this.  But, they'll break their necks trying to buy the new $1100 iPhone, smdh.....

But, I digress....

Freedom ain't free.  I'm earning a living at my current job, but it's not enough.  I want financial and creative freedom.  I don't want to be punching someone else's clock...I wanna punch my own.  Fuck being a field negro...I want to be a Maroon.  But...it takes some effort on the part of others.  I can write and publish these books until my last days....people have to go out, and support my work.  Really....it's that fucking simple.

Yeah.....this was a bit of a rant session.

The Day Job Grind, Part 2: #TheTransplantChronicles6

Been a long time, hasn't it....?

Been offline for a while.  I was actually working TWO day jobs, and trying to juggle them both.  I did that for about three weeks, and finally said "ENOUGH".  I was practically a walking zombie, I got so little sleep.  My days off didn't sync up until maybe a week ago, and I completely crashed when I did finally get a day off from both places.  Needless to say, that was a HARD ROAD for me to walk.

For an update, I finally got rid of one of the two jobs; the low-end retail job that I started off with.  That job sucked ass, and I thoroughly  hated it. It wasn't worth keeping; not with the headache that they expected us to put up with.  Not to mention the fact that they were switching to a bi-weekly payment plan...?  Fuuuuuuuuck thaaaaaaaaaat!!!!!! NOT worth it.  My second job is MUCH better, and less stressful.  I'm back working in food service again, so I have access to food again.  It keeps a good amount of money in my pocket, so the only thing I really have to worry about is having breakfast stuff for the mornings that I'm not working.

Got me a room to live in.  The landlord is a character, though.  I'll just leave it at that, for now.  The roommates aren't too bad; one is actually pretty cool.  The other guy...?  I don't know.  At least I have a place to lay my head.  It's better than that bullshit shelter that I was staying at.  I can come and go as I please, and have my own space.  It's just for know; hopefully I can get my own spot before the year is out.  So far, the Creator and the ancestors have been on my side so far.  Hopefully, they'll allow me to have my own spot before the year is out.

Still trying to convert "Seductra" into a paperback.  I haven't had any time (or luck) with the cover file.  Hopefully, I can FINALLY get the cover files right, so that it can be printed up as a paperback.  Now that I'm down to only one job, I'll have the time to get online, and upload the files, or handle any other issues that I have to deal with.

Still working on the Summer Schedule of Events (SoE) listing for the Universal Africana Literary Arts Movement.  I'm finally able to play catch-up on my emails, and do some online research for other festivals.  Looking forward to updating the list, and researching other festival that will be going on this fall.

Now that "Seductra" is published, I'm considering my options.  I need to focus on the promotional front of my writing career; people need to know that my books are available, in order to financially support me.  I want to focus on doing festival, and speaking engagements.  I'm considering doing a book signing out here, but I need to build myself up a bit more; gain some name recognition out here.  At least I have some of my works stocked in a few places on consignment out here.  It's coming together slowly, but surly.

Hopefully, I'll be able to keep you guys updated on my latest ventures.  I'll try not to go on hiatus again; it all depends on my personal situation.  Things have already improved for me, considering how things were going for me last year (shit...try the last THREE), and they can only go up from here. May the Creator and ancestors bless me with further good fortune.

Drum Speaking: 1-YR Publishing Anniversary

Khem Comic Book Fest 2017

Going on this coming weekend in Newark, New Jersey!!!  A comic book convention focusing on artists/creators of color!  There will be workshops, cosplay, vendors, film screening, panels, and much, much more!!!

Really wish that I could make it to this.  I've missed the first two, and was hoping to have myself together to make it to this one.  Hopefully, I can make it to next year's fest!  Please come out, and show them some love!!!!

The Latest Report: #TheTransplantChronicles2

Today makes it exactly one month that I've been out here.  I do feel more relaxed, than before I left.  I feel like I have more piece of mind.  I don't feel as burdened by the bullshit, as I was before.  That was pretty much the whole reason for me TO come out this way.

I'm still getting acclimated to the city of Wilmington.  I almost forgot how it felt like to walk out of the house, and NOT want to feel like punching someone in the face.  People actually greet you out here, and not just stare in your damn face, and not say nothing.  Shit like that would get you murdered, back in the day.

Anyway...I digress....

I haven't been able to explore very much of the city, but I have been able to make my way around.  Since I'm on a curfew, and my outside access is limited, I haven't gotten the chance to really explore, and immerse myself in the city; I have to take my opportunities to do that while I'm job hunting.  Shit...at least I'm getting callbacks, and inquiries out here.  I wasn't getting SHIT back in NY, which is why I fucking left.  Wtf I look like staying there and struggling, off of some supposed bullshit conception that people have of the city, that just ISN'T true, and HASN'T been true for the last 10-15 years?!

Anyway....

Slowly but surely, I'm getting everything together for the publication of my upcoming EIGHTH book "Seductra: Web of Desire".  The cover art is done, and I'm still doing last-minute editing of the manuscript.  I haven't started on the other two conversion projects of "Time Will Reveal", and "Fiesta Girl"; I'm probably gonna leave those two alone for a while.  At least I have them as first drafts....

Gotta admit...it's ratchet as fuck out where I'm staying.  It's not so much the crime, but the lack of adult/parental guidance and leadership for the youth out here.  It's more sad and depressing, than anything.  The adults are all strung out on drugs and alcohol, while the youth are just hang out on the street corners, blatantly smoking weed like it's going out of fashion, imitating the ratchet ass behavior that you see on television. Seriously, for me it's like...where the fuck is the conscious community at?!  If there was EVER a call for community activism and uplift....this is it!

I have to admit, I'm fighting the urge to get back into "activist mode" while I'm out here.  That's NOT why I came out here, and relocated out of state.  I've been burned too many times being a souljahr, and I'm NOT trying to go there, again.  I'm burned out by my experiences in VA, B'more, and my bullshit return back to NYC.  Fuck the dumb shit...even souljahrs have to retire....

I am feeling more upbeat, relaxed, and more positive.  Other than needing to get back to where I want to be personally and financially, I'm doing good, and glad that I made that transition out of the state.  The rest of y'all can keep that bullshit; I'm moving on to better things in my life.  As my peoples from NBUF would say...forward ever, backwards, never.
